About The Site

This service was started in 2004, when cellphones became common,
but nobody yet knew other people's numbers, and the only directory was
for landlines. Sure, you could get your cellnumber listed - if you had
a landline listing already, and paid a hefty annual listing fee.
Now most of those early cellphones were pretty basic and had little if
any way of storing numbers, so you had to remember them or carry a list.
There was an obvious need for some kind of directory. Not in book form
(who want's to cart a phone book around? That's hardly being 'mobile'.)
So I created an online one.
The first was just an online list of a few locals I knew. Handy if
you knew how to access it online. Most didn't. But word of mouth soon
spread the word and others joined. Now here we are, still catering for
those who need to look up numbers they haven't saved yet. And still free.

So what else can I tell you?
We are a registered NZ company, totally indepedent of other services,
so we can't be dictated to by 'the big boys' who intensely dislike us.
We operate from our own private servers located in Whanganui NZ
where this program was first developed and is constantly revised.

So how does it work?

Well it doesn't - unless you are registered or already have a
verified listing yourself. This is for privacy and security reasons.
When you try to log on your details are checked. If you are already
a verified user you'll go straight to the main page and everything
should work fine for you.
If you aren't found you will be asked to join, and until you do, and
are verified, you'll be blocked from most functions. Look only.

Joining and using the site is free. There are no fees, however
we'd appreciate your help by way of a donation to help cover our
operating costs, which aren't cheap.)

Note that you must add your details yourself. We can't do it for you,
as firstly we don't know your details, and secondly it's a breach of
your privacy if we do. Plus you must approve the use of your details.

There is now just one type of listing and you can enter as many (or
as few) details as you wish, however you must provide at the very least --

1. Your Email Address. (Will not be shown unless you approve it.)

2. A name. (Eg. Joe Bloggs or J Bloggs Plumbing.)

3. An area. (Eg. Auckland. or NZ for nationwide.)

4. At least one phone number. (Cellphone, landline, freephone or all.)

The above items are required to make the system work, and only
those items will be shown in a private listing. You can add other
details if you wish (businesses probably will for the advertising value)
but they may not be visible unless you are an approved supporter.

Please consider your privacy and security when entering or approving
data. The 'Add A Listing' page will guide you in entering your details.

Email addresses are NOT shown unless you 'tick the box' to approve it.
They are required by us for verification and contact purposes.

We would appreciate a small donation to help keep things running.
This will classify you as a 'supporter' and enable enhanced listings
such as live clickable Website addresses and Email Links, business names, color and layout choices etc.

Rules & Conditions

Your listing once placed is permanent. You are responsible for keeping it up to date, or if you can't do it yourself, ask us to update or delete it for you. If you use the same device or connection you entered the listing with, you should have full access 24/7.

1. While using this site you must do nothing which is illegal, abusive, false, misleading, or offensive to any person.

2. You absolve anyone in any way connected to this website, for anything whatsoever which may occur while using this website, or as a result of using this website.

3. You agree to provide only that information which relates to yourself or your business, that being information which you have authority to provide, and that information being current and correct to the best of your knowledge. That information should be kept up to date by you at all times to the best of your ability.

4. We reserve the right at all times to modify, remove, or refuse any listing, where it is in breach of our rules, NZ Law, good taste etc.
